The competition was held in Kirov, Russia during November 2012. It was organize by Grigory Novikov (http://grigorynovikov.com/en/).
There were nearly 30 luthiers in the classical guitar making competition. The were two judging rounds. The first was a closed-door evaluation carried out by the panel of judges. They sample each guitar and provided their ratings.
After this closed-door round, 8 finalists were chosen. The eight selected finalists went through a blind listening evaluation that was opened to all to listen. A professional player will play each guitar using the same tune, and the listeners will cast their votes without seeing the guitars.
Jeffrey's sent in two Tioman 3 which one was damaged during transit. After both rounds, Jeffrey's Tioman 3 emerged as the overall winner.
